Welcome. Just call me Mountainbird. I love this photo with Luke Skywalker. Shoot for the stars with us!
My multifaceted life includes writing, clay art, and the more pragmatic insurance, nutritional products and legal service plan sales. I figure as long as we are taking space up here on earth, we may as well make the most of it. When my children were young, I was a carpenter and later became a professor of Reading, Writing and ESL Education as well as a short term missionary to El Salvador, Thailand, Ghana and Haiti. While I have enjoyed these diverse experiences, my greatest adventure in life has been as a mother of three grown sons, grandmother to two lovely teen girls, respite foster parent with a Christian organization (the Bair Foundation), daughter to a wonderful mom, and sibling to one sister, three brothers, and step-siblings. I also have a few “adopted” God- children and grandchildren I am honored to share life with.
I’m from the north originally, but after living in North Carolina for the past 17 years, I consider myself a transplanted southern gal! Hey, we smile a lot more in the south. More smiles is reason enough to adopt a southern lifestyle. Plus, winter lasts 6 weeks rather than 6 months. Sometimes, I say “you all.” I know it’s “y’all,” but I’m not native born, so my dialect gets mixed up with Boston, Guam. Arizona, North Carolina, with a little New Jersey thrown in for good measure.
Why not join Luke Skywalker and me as we reach for the stars? Hope you take some time and browse around. Would love to hear from you, and come on back now, ya hear!
