An earlier post, Gardening: Chore, Challenge or Calm?, was all about how gardening brought me peace.  Perhaps, I spoke too soon.  With the increasing heat came an army of insects.  First, at my back garden, I spied a lonely soldier attacking.  Yikes. Who stripped off t...

Quotation from Ephesians 2: 10  For we are God's masterpiece.  He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Last night, I was listening to Kevin Zedai on the ISN channel when he quoted Ephesians 2: 5-6.  Now I have...

"If you are breathing, God has a purpose for you.  As long as you are breathing, somebody needs what you have: gifts, talents, smile, love, service."   Joel Osteen

Consulting, discussing, sharing. These are the public parts to the writing process.  When it comes down to it, writing is done alone usually but if the purpose is to share ideas, then somewhere along the line it is time to get public, so I went to a second business men...

About Me

Speak Life!

Welcome to Lookin' Up with Mountainbird.
My multifaceted site reflects my multifaceted life.  I juggle lay ministry, writing, potting with clay, cooking, art, adventure, and sales/service of insurance, nutritional products and legal service plans.  This makes for many topics to share here.  My focus will be writing, health and wellness, cooking, gardening, nature and anything that inspires.
My personal history is I am a mother of three grown sons, a former carpenter and professor of English and Education.  Missions and service are passions.  Now I help where I live and advocate two charities:  Children with Hair Loss and  the Anthony J. Falbo Memorial Fund (an art scholarship).  Formerly I served as a short term missionary to Thailand, Haiti, El Salvador and Ghana
Browse around my site and let me know your topic ideas and responses. Perhaps you'd like to be a guest contributor.  Let me know your fave topics or postings.  Formerly from the north but currently a southern gal, I'll say, "Love to hear from y'all--and come back now."
